Dorn, James Thomas

Jim Dorn died December 30, 2017. He was 84 years old. A Korean War Veteran, he is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Dorn; his son, Eric Dorn of Corona del Mar, CA; his daughter, Dion Whitaker (Richard), Menifee, CA; his sister, Janice Dorn of Hawthorne, CA; 9 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, James T. Prosser and Anita Dorn, as well as his son, James, his son Stephen, and his granddaughter, Kendall Dorn. He received his B.S. Degree in Business from the University of Phoenix.
He began his career with North American Aviation followed by Autonetics, Rockwell, Int'l. retiring from Boeing after 55 years in the Aerospace industry. He authored, published and presented several technical papers for the Aerospace industry. He was President of The National Management Association during his career as well as President of the Orange County Toastmasters.
He was always involved with his children's activities from coaching football, track, basketball or anything else in which they showed an interest. When he and Mary Lou had an empty nest they spent many years taking cruises which he enjoyed immensely.
He will be laid to rest at Pacific View Cemetery in Corona del Mar Saturday, January 6, 2018. Viewing from 1:00 to 2:00 with service to follow.
