Riggs, Diana Blanche
Diana Blanche Riggs, born in San Francisco, CA on June 5, 1934, peacefully left this earth on February 18, 2013. Diana was the beloved mother to her three children, Paul Riggs, Eleanor Cayler and Gregory Riggs. Diana cherished her three grandchildren, William Cayler, Benjamin Cayler, and Julia Riggs as well as her two daughters-in-law, Michele and Diana and her son-in-law Paul.

Along with her brother Anthony Herkomer, Diana was raised in Sacramento by her father Philip Herkomer and her mother, Paloma Boyden. She graduated from Sacramento Senior High School in 1952 and then attended Sacramento Junior College, School of Nursing, becoming a nurse in 1955. She worked in the nursing field for several years before becoming a wife to John Riggs and a mother to her three children. Diana's greatest pride and joy was raising her children and attending to her family.

Diana was a direct descendent of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo and his wife Francisca Benicia Carrillo. She was very proud of her California heritage. She was also the granddaughter of the well-known portrait painter, Herman Herkomer whose work can be seen at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento.

Diana's passions were art, theater and travel and her precious cats, Brianna and Chelsea. She is survived by her former husband, John Riggs, her cousin Len Herkomer and niece Catherine Herkomer as well as her three children and their families.

A private graveside service is being planned in honor of Diana.
