Darlington, Helen Belden

Darlington, Helen Belden, 83, passed away on July 22, 2011 in Santa Ana, California as a result of complications from advanced Alzheimer's. Helen was born in Windham, OH on May 18, 1928 to parents George and Edythe Shank Belden. She graduated from Windham High School and then from Kent State University with the degree of B.S. in zoology. She played the trumpet in the Kent State marching band. She received the degree of M.T. (Medical Technologist) in 1950 from Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She was employed as a medical technician in California and Illinois. Helen married Henry T. Darlington, an electrical engineer, on February 14, 1953 in Garrettsville, OH. The couple has lived in Southern California for the past 56 years. Helen and her family spent many summers at the family cottage on Glen Lake, MI near Traverse City. Helen is survived by her husband Henry, children Bill and Carol and adult grandchildren Joseph, Bethany, Elizabeth and Kelsey. Memorial services will be held at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 13922 Prospect Ave., Santa Ana, CA on July 30, 2011. Internment will be at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, CA.
