Curt Van Ess

Curt Van Ess, 51, passed away June 29, 2013, it is with profound sadness that we announce his untimely death. Our beloved Curt is survived by his life partner of 29 years, Jim Fry, mother Doris Van Ess Smith, sister Diana Poe, nephews Brandon and Lance and niece Ashley. Preceded in death by his father Granger Van Ess. With a heart of gold, Curt was everyone's friend and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. The multi-talented Curt with his flair for interior design and the fashion industry could easily impress his clients with his ideas for improvement. A graduate of Okefenokee Technical College in Waycross, Georgia, for years Curt owned and operated Vaness Design, specializing in custom floral design. During the holiday season he transformed the homes of a long list of his clients into a magical holiday spirit. He was also involved with several charitable organizations donating his time and effort concentrating on the stage set design for Les Dames du Soleil benefiting Desert Aids Project and Table Top Design for Fashion Group International.
