Cynthia Deborah Crowl, age 55 passed away at home surrounded by her loving husband, Glenn Crowl, Mother, Eloise Barton Miller, and daughter, Cathleen Lawrence on January 28, 2016, after her ten month courageous battle with cancer. Cynthia was born on April 20, 1960 in Fairfield, CA, the only daughter of William & Eloise Haines. She later became part of a blended family of nine children called, Barton's Bunch. As the middle child, she was the mediator and the "Leader of the Little's." Cynthia graduated from Foothill High school in 1977. On November 3, 1979 she and Charles Williams brought her only child Cathleen Elizabeth Williams into the world. On June 26, 1999, she married her loving husband Glenn Crowl, creating her own blended family with his two daughters Ashleigh and Kristie Crowl. Known to many as "Cynthia - Darling" and "Sparkles." She brought life and positive energy into any room. A gifted listener who could empathize and relate to your problems with a life experience or story of her own, she always made you feel important and special. In her personal and professional life she had a talent for getting people involved, and ensuring, that everyone was having a good time. She worked for the Department of Education for over 27 years and was active in her Union, both CSEA and SEIU local 1000, as a union steward and a bargaining unit delegate. Her passions were singing, gardening, volunteering for the "Scottish Games" and making memories with friends. Cynthia was preceded in death by her fathers William Haines and Ken Barton, and by her sibling Russell Converse Barton. She is survived by her husband Glenn Crowl, daughter Cathleen Lawrence (Ben), grandson Avery Lawrence, mother Eloise Barton Miller, siblings Kathryn Zolani, Valerie Francesconi (Rick), Judi Daley (John), Lisa Keath (Jack), Derrick Barton (Beth), Bill Haines (Colleen), Joe Barton (Jodee), and a multitude of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life ceremony will be held from 2 pm until 5 pm on February 27, 2016, at the Center for Spiritual Awareness at: 1275 Starboard Drive, West Sacramento, CA 95691. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Center for Spiritual Awareness.
