Tributes for

Crouch, Maurice

Maurice (Reese) Crouch
Passed away at home early Friday morning after a 13 month battle with esophageal cancer. He was 52.

Reese is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kristy, his children, Kevin, Marie, and Anne, his mother Patricia, brother Tony (Melonie), sisters Kim and Christina (Paul) as well as many in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews. All are heartbroken by Reese's passing. Reese was preceded in death by his sister, Kelli.

There is not as much love and humor in the world today because of the loss of Reese Crouch. A proud and supportive father, Reese selflessly devoted his time and energy to the interests of his children. Be it music, swimming, basketball or volleyball. Like a walking day-timer, Reese knew the agendas and appointments of each member of the family, making sure everyone was where they needed to be. Whether it was St. Ignatius, OLA or a remote gymnasium far from home, Reese was there.

As an individual, Reese was special. Knowledgeable and well-read, he had a gift for including people in the conversation by knowing what that person was interested in and confidently steering the discussion that way. Nebraska football, film critiques, current affairs, the political landscape....No topic was beyond his reach or knowledge.

Reese was born in San Diego and raised in Nebraska. Although he moved back to California as a young man, he never lost his solidly Midwestern roots - he was considerate, humble, soft-spoken and always prioritized family. Reese championed Kristy, Kevin, Marie and Anne in all their endeavors. Their successes and achievements were made possible by his love and encouragement.

"Gently they go, the beautiful, the tender, the kind;" - Millay

Reese was all three.

Donations can be made to St. Ignatius College Preparatory, 2001 37th Ave., San Francisco, CA 94116.
