Tributes for

Busch, Pauline

Pauline Estelle Busch (Gomes)
Sept. 14, 1928–Jan. 1, 2014
Pauline is survived by her husband of 60 years Joseph H. Busch, son Mark J. Busch, daughter Lori A. (Steven T.) Dachauer; granddaughters Traci A. (Anthony R.) Tyler and Julie M. Dachauer and great-grandson Tatum A. Tyler. Her brothers Rex Gomes, Ralph Gomes and sister, Virginia Jordan (Gomes) all pre-deceased her.

She was born in Oakland, CA and spent most of her young life splitting time in Oakland and Mendocino where she loved camping and swimming in the ocean. She graduated high school in Oakland where she excelled in all things. She especially loved music, was an excellent singer and could sing almost all of the songs of the 40's, 50's and 60's from memory.

Pauline was active in the PTA through all the school years of her children serving as president several times. She spent several years as a leader of Campfire Girls and was involved in the high school athletics booster club. She was pleased to host along with her husband many group parties for Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts, PTA and Joe's Navy Reserve Unit. She also had many Christmas parties for friends, neighbors and relatives. The most enjoyed event she hosted and cooked for was "Portuguese Night" symbolizing the last feast before the beginning of Lent.

In addition to her wonderful cooking and baking she was an accomplished seamstress. She made much of her own evening gowns and daughter's dresses including her daughter's wedding dress. She also loved to crochet making afghans for all of her loved ones which included family and friends.

Pauline lived her life fully as she saw it. She enjoyed her family just being with them and watching them grow into the fine people they are. She supported her husband in his many travels and accompanied him to professional society meetings throughout the United States.
