Margaret Elizabeth Buettgenback
Age 81, passed away peacefully at home in Millbrae, CA on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 after a struggle with Parkinson's Disease. She was born on March 11, 1932 in Falls City, Nebraska to August and Dorothy Korn. Margaret attended elementary, junior high, and high school in Lincoln, Nebraska. She said she picked out her husband, Dale, in junior high, and they were proudly married for 62 years. She followed Dale to San Francisco, CA after his enlistment in the U.S. Navy.

In 1952, she started a career with Bank of America in corporate Human Resources. Among other assignments, she participated in or served as project manager for the implementation of multiple payroll systems. She received the CEO's Eagle Award in recognition of excellent performance for a payroll system implementation serving 100,000 employees worldwide. Having received a Vice President title and following retirement in 1995, she served as a consultant and payroll special projects leader for the Clorox Corporation.

The family moved to Pacifica in 1955 and to Millbrae in 1977. Margaret was very devoted to her family, friends and local community, including serving as President of Vallemar (Pacifica) PTA, and was active in church choir, committees, and as a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed many trips to Hawaii and visits with her father's family in Germany. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Dale; her daughter, Gail; and preceded in death by her son, Donald.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 2PM at Burlingame United Methodist Church, 1443 Howard Avenue, Burlingame, CA 94010.
