Thomas Martin Brennan
February 5, 1930 - April 12, 2015
Tom passed away peacefully on April 12, 2015, with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of over 58 years, Alma, his daughters, Joan and Diane, his son-in-law, Richard, his grandchildren, Joseph and Lexie, and step-grandchildren, Jennifer and Parker.
Tom was born and raised in San Francisco, CA, where he attended St. Ignatius High School and USF. He was a long-time resident of San Carlos, and taught high school for 35 years for the Sequoia Union High School District, enriching the lives of many. Tom was an active member of St. Charles Church, where he was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, a lector, and a school board member.
Upon retirement, he enjoyed many meaningful moments with his family. He was an active member of Sons in Retirement (SIRS). Because of Tom's love for history, he was a proud docent for the San Mateo County Historical Society.
Tom lived his life with true devotion to his family and to his faith. He will be remembered with great love by his family and the many, many friends he has made over the years.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday evening, April 15th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. (Rosary at 7:00 p.m.) at Crippen & Flynn Carlmont Chapel, 1111 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Tom's honor on Thursday morning, April 16th at 10:30 a.m., at St. Charles Church, 880 Tamarack Avenue, San Carlos, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association .
