Bodnar, Erma

Bodnar, Erma 1936-2012. Our mom went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 10, 2012 in Harbor City, CA with her family by her side. She was born on October 12, 1936 in San Pedro to Frank and Liberty (Pugliese) Albano. She attended Mary Star Elementary School and graduated from San Pedro High School, Summer Class of 1954. She worked at Pacific Bell, Leland Street Elementary School, Todd Shipyard, McDonnell Douglas and retired from Los Angeles Bunker Surveyors in 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bodnar, Jr. (1972) and her parents, Frank and Liberty Albano. She is survived by her four children; Joell, Franc, Paul and Lynelle Bodnar; her grandchildren; Marisa (Daniel) Vattuone, Chris (Liz) Torrez, Joyliese Bodnar, Joseph Bodnar, and the "apple of her eye" Genesis Robles. She also leaves her two great-granddaughters, Isabella and Liliana Vattuone. She is also survived by her two sisters, Fil Albano (Bernie Cleary) and Marie (Stan) Reynolds and family. Also her brother-in-law, John Bodnar, uncle, Mario (Rose) Albano and aunts, Angie Albano and Rose Onorato, as well as a multitude of family and lifelong friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, from 4 pm to 8 pm at McNerney's Mortuary, San Pedro. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 25501 Oak Street, Lomita, where she was a devout and active member for over 33 years. Internment to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
