Birnbaum, Cecil Walter Jr. moved to his heavenly home on June 14, 2016 at the age of 93. He passed peacefully in his home in the company of his loving wife of 58 years, Dianne. Cecil was born January 15, 1923 in San Jose, CA. He served in the US Army for the duration of WWII, from June 21, 1941 to January 15, 1946. Cecil then worked as an Art Director at Douglas Aircraft Company for over 30 years. In retirement, he was active in his local Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter, serving as Post Commander and Chaplain. He is survived by his wife, Dianne; children Amy, Cecil III, and John; grandchildren Kevin, Hannah and Charissa; and great-grandson, Jack.
