Beattie, Elizabeth "Bette"

Beattie, Elizabeth (Bette), born March 5, 1917, died November 28, 2012. Bette was a longtime resident of Fair Oaks and was active in various community activities, including Inner Wheel (Rotary wives) and Mariners, the Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church's longest-standing ship (Ice Breakers). She served for five years as Area Director of American Field Service. She also served as an executive secretary for a California State Legislator, the San Juan Unified School District's school board, and the district's School Superintendent. She has lived at Eskaton Village in Carmichael since 2000. The family wants to thank Eskaton for treating her so well, especially in the Skilled Nursing facility where she has resided since 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Beattie. She is survived by her son Don Beattie, her daughter Pamela Kleinle, her son-in-law Alan Kleinle, her grandchildren Justin Kleinle and Dana Kleinle Moniz, and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held this Saturday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m., at Russ Monroe's Funeral Home, 7960 Winding Way, Fair Oaks.
