Melissa Suelynn Cooper Bender
Was born May 28, 1981 in Pomona and passed away July 2, 2014. She was killed in a tragic accident on the way to Parker, Az. where her and her family loved to vacation. Melissa graduated from Upland High with honors in 1999 and went on to graduate with honors from Cal Poly Pomona. She currently was Director of Finance and Administration with Beaumont Cherry Valley Water District. She was soft spoken, very intelligent, honest, caring, giving, loving, hard working and was touched by everyone that came into her life. She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years Shane Bender of Yucapia. 3 adored children Skylar, JayLynn, and Ryker. Parents Rick and Marilyn Cooper of Upland, and Chuck and Gladney Bender of Yucapia. Brother James and Lisa Cooper of Upland, sister Michelle and Rob Hayden of Mulkilteo, Wa. Lauren and Scott Hendrix of Ontario. Sister in law Miriah and Mike Andrews of Eastville. Nieces Dylan, Reese Cooper, and Beth Hayden. Nephews Cash Cooper, Cole Andrews, Ethan Ford, Bo and Hunter Hayden. Aunts Ginger and Rex Clouse of Mesa, Az. Margaret and Paul Harrison of Kyle, TX. Debbie and Gary Cooper of Laverne, Beverly Duran of Upland and Sue Jetlon of San Dimas. Uncle Ken and Colleen Cooper of Upland. Cousins: Rance, Kyle, Telissa, Derek, Mickey, Michelle, Melanie, Julie, Chris (Bubba), Tracy, Lauren, Jonnay, Christin, Carrie, Pilar, and Ryan. Life long best friend Heather Olivas and a world of family and friends. Preceded in death by her grandparents James and Dallas Shipman, Milton and Oliva Cooper, Uncles Eugene and Quintin Cooper. Aunts Barbara Cooper Cofini, Katy Cooper, and grandma Betty. Melissa will have a celebration of life at Oakdale Mortuary 1401 S. Grand Ave. Glendora Ca, 91740.
