Acklin Kathryn L., born in 1943, passed on October 13, 2011 after a brave battle with cancer. She was employed by the Diocese of Columbus Education Department and Bishop Hartley High School for more than 25 years. Kathy was a devout Catholic and had a deep unwavering faith. Kathy was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert J. Acklin. She is survived by her two brothers, Joseph Gruber, and James (Barbara) Gruber; children, John (Kristina) Acklin, Brian (Emily) Acklin, Dean (Jenna) Acklin and Renee Scurlock; grandchildren, Bobby, Kate, Maddie, Sammie, Max, Mira, Patrick and Jake; many nieces and nephews as well as many close and caring friends. Family will receive friends on Sunday 2-6 p.m. and Monday 3-6 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL, 4019 E. Livingston Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 10 a.m. at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 807 Havens Corners Rd., Gahanna, OH. Private Burial.
