Abbott, Kevin

Kevin Abbott passed away unexpectedly in Mission Viejo, CA on January 24th, 2015. Kevin was born to Arlen and Arlene Abbott on November 2, 1961 in Fremont, CA. He grew up in the Bay Area with his older sister, Lynette and younger brother, Rodney. Kevin attended Washington High School where he played varsity basketball and baseball. He went on to play college basketball at Cal State University East Bay in Hayward, CA, graduating in four years with a Bachelor's of Business Administration / Accounting.

After graduation Kevin obtained his CPA license and moved to Los Angeles, CA to begin his accounting career with KPMG in 1984. In 1986, Kevin married the love of his life, Barbara McNamara. In 1989, Kevin then went to work at Apria Health Care for two years before beginning his twenty-two year career at Toshiba America Medical Systems, INC. At Toshiba, Kevin served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for over a decade. Kevin was currently employed at Siemens Medical Solutions USA, INC as Vice President of Finance. Kevin was well known for his work ethic and leadership.

Kevin was a family man, enjoying time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and basketball player. He enjoyed sports, supporting his favorite sports teams, especially his children's college teams, TCU Football and Gonzaga Basketball. He also enjoyed his local Anaheim Ducks, where he was a season ticket holder for twenty-one years.

Kevin was an incredible son, husband, father and friend. He was universally respected for his integrity and selflessness. Kevin was always there to lend a helping hand, always thinking of others before himself. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara; and his two beautiful children, Madeleine and Bryan; parents, Arlen and Arlene Abbott; sister, Lynette; brother, Rodney; and several nephews. Kevin will be dearly missed by all.

His funeral service will be held at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Mission Viejo on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 10:30 am.
