Medina, Alfred Martinez

Medina, Alfred Martinez, 80, born August 24, 1930 to parents, Julia M. Medina and Alberto P. Medina went home to be with our Lord June 20, 2011, surrounded by his sons, Richard and Albert, and several family members. Serenaded by 2 musician guitarist playing and singing his favorite Mexican songs of his and his parents times. Born in the Delhi area of Santa Ana he attended Monroe Elementary and Lathrop Jr. High to the 9th grade. He served in the armed forces 101st Airborne Division from 1951 to 1953 then in the Army Reserve until 1959. He worked at both the El Toro Air Base and the Santa Ana Helicopter Base as a meat cutter and retired from the Lucky and Gemco Stores as a meat cutter in 1991. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen S. Medina (2009); siblings, John and Arthur Medina, Eleanor Ramirez and Mary Lou (Licha) Vargas. He is survived by hi sisters, Juliet (Nena) Medina and Maura Ochoa; his two sons; granddaughters, Rachel, Roxana, Rigina, Nikki Rae and Natalie Carmen Medina. He taught us to do a good job at anything we did, stand up for what we believe in, respect our fellow man and especially help and respect our elderly and their dignity. We had a wonderful life with him and cherish all the memories. Viewing Monday, June 27, 2011 from 4-8 pm with a Rosary/Vigil at 7 p.m. in Saddleback Chapel, Tustin, CA. Funeral Mass, Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 10 am in Saint Cecilia Church, Tustin, CA. Interment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Orange, CA.
