Osterlund, Robert Severin

Osterlund, Robert Severin, 1923-2011, was born and raised in Los Angeles. He graduated from Dorsey High School where he excelled in sports. During WWII, in 1943 he enlisted in the Navy and was commissioned as Ensign. He graduated with a BA in 1950 from Southern California Bible College in Pasadena (now known as Vanguard University in Costa Mesa) where he was Student Body President. He married Taimi Huusko in 1948. They met in Berkeley and have two daughters, Annette and Jani, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was a very gentle, gracious man who loved people. He loved to golf, sail, ski, and played all sports. Bob owned a successful flooring business in Orange County for over 50 years. He greatly valued his customers as friends. He loved the Lord and generously shared his skills with young people. For over 50 years Bob was involved in the music ministry at the 1St Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton. He and Taimi were mentors of the New Community Sunday School Class for nearly 20 years. He lived a beautiful and blessed life and will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed. "My contentment is not in wealth but in seeing you and knowing all is well between us. And when I awake in Heaven, I will be fully satisfied for I will see you face to face."
