Tributes for

Martinez, Reina

Reina Marie Martinez
On September 7, 2015, Reina Marie Martinez, long time resident of San Francisco, passed from this life to the next. Reina was born, raised, & lived in the same home all her life, which was one of the original homes built in the Sunset District.

Reina will be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing her. For 27 years She loved & cared for an "old Bear", her husband, Floyd "Bear" Gray. She was a mentor & an encourager to her two daughters, Michele Amato-Topp of Virginia and Lisa Roberts of Colorado. She is survived by two granddaughters: Terez Amato of Hawaii & Melanie Cordero of Santa Barbara, Ca. She was proud to have four great grandchildren: Ariel, Gabrielle, Michael & Raquel, all of Hawaii. Her brother: George Martinez, sister-in-law: Ingrid & their three sons: Reynold, Spencer & Christian were among her favorite people in this world. Of course we cannot fail to mention her lifelong friend Tania.

Reina had many hobbies. She was an accomplished pianist, loved to read, was an avid crossword puzzler and an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed weekend trips to Reno, on-line poker, and a Manhattan before dinner.

One of her best moments came when, after many years of employment with State Farm Insurance, she was a major factor in winning the class action law suit brought against the company in which women won the right to apply for & become State Farm Agents.

Sammy; Honey; Ma... We will miss your sense of humor and your love & devotion to your family & friends. Praying you rest in peace (and have lots of ice cream.)
