Jesse Thomas Curlee, Jr., 93, of Ashland, AL passed away after a brief illness Sunday, March 22, 2015 in Birmingham, AL. He was a resident of Fullerton, CA between 1954 and 2001. He was a veteran of WWII having served tours of duty in San Diego, Port Hueneme and the Philippines. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a quality control inspector at Douglas Aircraft, North American Aviation and Rockwell, working on the Apollo, Space Shuttle and GPS satellites. Jesse is survived by two sons, Tom (Karleen) Curlee of Fullerton; Stan (Pam) Curlee of Anaheim; four grandchildren, David, Andrea, Sarah and Joe; sisters, Katie Gravette, Ailene Foster, Sarah Sparks; brothers, Charles Curlee, John Curlee, James Curlee; and beloved companion, Audrey Heath. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Laney Curlee, in 1998. A funeral is scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, March 28, 2015, in the chapel at Clay County Funeral Home, with visitation the night prior between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
