Charles was born in Brooklyn, New York to Antonino and Stefania Accurso who emigrated from Sicily in the 1920's. He was the eldest of five sons. The family came to California when Charles was 15. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Amada, and his two children, Chuck and Denise who loved him dearly. He was a teacher of Industrial Arts for 26 years at Hoover School in Redwood City and at Carlmont in Belmont. Charles was a true Renaissance man who was instantly liked by everyone who met him. He kept his Sicilian family traditions alive with his love of cooking, eating, making wine and gardening. A Rosary will be held Tuesday, February 10 at 7pm at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel. The Funeral Mass will take place at the Church of the Nativity in Menlo Park on Wednesday, February 11 at 10:30am. Burial immediately following the mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Menlo Park.
