Conroy, Jan
Born February 10, 1947 in San Francisco, CA to Michael Conroy and Kathleen Flemming Conroy.

Taken from us in a tragic car accident on the Delta highway on June 15, 2014. Jan after graduating from UCD, went on work for the university for 35 years. The majority of those years were spent in the university communications department where he retired as Executive Director two years ago.

As a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, he shared his joy of life with all those who knew and loved him. His loss leaves us empty.

He is survived by his wife Gayle Dax-Conroy of Carmichael, and daughter Ann Conroy Lockyer (Joseph) of Concord, brother Mark Conroy (Sheila) of Folsom, step-children Steve Cammack (Valorie) of Clovis, Noelle Cammack of Davis, Tom Dax (Chandra) of Orangevale, Juliann Dax of Antelope, Jeffrey Dax (Coral) of Carmichael. Also survived by his grandchildren Joseph, Cooper, Dovlynn, Damien, Taylor, Anthony, Cody Joe, Jessica, Chrissy, Maddi Mae, Matt, Makensie, Cameron and great-grandchildren Andre and Kaison. Nieces Tonisha, Chelsea, Sophie Conroy. Brother-in-law Jim Heisterkamp (Patti) of Newcastle, and sister-in-law Donna Owens (Homer) of Carmichael, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Jan's life will be held at the Putah Creek Lodge on the UC Davis campus on Sun., June 29 at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jan's memory may be made to the Jan Conroy Scholarship Fund.
