Vallens, Jerome April 27, 1926 - December 19, 2013 Jerome Henry Vallens - Passed away December 19, 2013. He will be buried at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Hollywood Hills on December 29, 2013. Jerome Henry Vallens, usually known as "Jerry" was born April 27, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, the second of four children. His family moved to Los Angeles prior to World War II. Jerry served as a Sergeant in Company A of the 184th Infantry of the 7th Division of the US Army. He was wounded in action on Okinawa, awarded a Purple Heart and he later served in Korea in 1945-6. Jerry and his brother Bernard operated the Rainbow Tile Company for 25 years. Later he was in business as a General Contractor under Jerry Vallens Ltd., for 20 years. Jerry was married to Myrna on July 6, 1952. Together they lived in Sherman Oaks for over 50 years. They had two children, Brent and Nancy, and three grandchildren, Jacob, Benjamin and Amanda. Jerry is also survived by 3 siblings, Bernard, Ida and David. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Myrna Vallens Scholarship Fund at Cal State University, Northridge.
