Amoroso, Anthony

Anthony John Amoroso, 88 of Cathedral City, California, passed away on December 20, 2013. Mr. Amoroso was born on September 6, 1925 to Concetto Amoroso and Mary Amoroso Chohany in Syracuse, N.Y. Mr. Amoroso was a Master Furrier for 65 years. He was licensed in the states of Connecticut, California, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Texas. He was the owner and operator of Amoroso Furs In Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, 3rd and 4th degree. He was a member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of The Elks for 50 years. He was a member of The American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Sons of Italy in America, The Marine Corp League and a sponsoring member of The U.S.O. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946 and 1950 to 1952 as a Sergeant. He Is survived by his wife, Rose Glitzer Amoroso of Cathedral City. He is also survived by his children Joan M. Amoroso and Anthony D. Amoroso and grandson Augustus Amoroso Ludriecus. By marriage, he is survived by children Rosemary Watson and Hal P. Glitzer. He is also survived by six wonderful Grandchildren and seven beloved Great-Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 12:45 pm at St. Louis Catholic Church 68633 C Street in Cathedral City, Calif. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday December 27, 2013 at The Palm Springs Elks Lodge #1905 on Hwy 111 in Cathedral City Calif. Interment will take place on Jan. 2, 2014 at Riverside National Cemetery, 22-495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside CA., 92518. Services are under the direction of Wiefels Mortuary in Palm Springs, California
