Tributes for

Nahhas, Jane Jensen

Jane Jensen Nahhas was born Jane Jensen on December 19th, 1940, in Allen Creek, Kentucky. She passed away on Monday night, August 5th, 2013, at her home in Fair Oaks, California. Jane is survived by her common-law husband, Terrence LaFleur, six children from two previous marriages, Michael Marth, Scott Marth, Jon Nahhas, Richard Nahhas, Deborah Hanson, Mary Broadbent, thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her cousin, George Gosche, whom she always thought of as her younger brother, and scores of friends she had made over the years. She was the widow of Air Force Colonel Richard S. Nahhas, and was also preceded by her parents, Henry and Martha Jensen and her sister Loraine. Jane lived with her parents and younger sister tending dairy farms and chicken ranches as a child. After her sister passed away and her mother was hospitalized, she was taken in by the family of her aunt, Anne Jensen Gosche, and graduated Reseda High School. She remained in California most of her life, but lived for several years in Alexandria, Virginia, Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Okinawa, Japan. Jane enjoyed bowling, dancing, walking, aerobics, playing bridge and traveling, but cowboy action shooting became her passion later in life. She was an accomplished competitive shooter who achieved Grande dame status, read two books a week for most of her life and solved every crossword puzzle published by the Sacramento Bee over the past thirty years. Jane's funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 14, 11:00 AM at the Russ Monroe Chapel in Fair Oaks.
