Ellis, Joyce A., passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in Fountain Valley, California, at the age of 58 following a lengthy battle with bile duct cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and hospice care in the comfort of her home at the time of passing. Joyce was born on April 17, 1955 in Santa Monica, California, to Arlington and Mildred Staigh. She grew up in the Marina Del Rey area, graduating from Venice High School in 1973. She was a woman of extraordinary beauty, both inside and out. She met her husband to be, Bill Ellis, in the Fall of 1974 and they were married on July 24, 1979. Joyce and Bill had an exceptional marriage of 34 years that resulted in the addition of two sons, Dan and Ken. Joyce was a woman of many wonderful and creative talents. Although she was involved with real estate sales for a period of time, her greatest desire was to be a stay at home mother for her two sons. In that regard, she was a wonderful mother supporting her sons in their many social activities. She was always there for them regardless of the task. For many years she was a board member with the Fountain Valley Little League program and for several of those years was a team manager. Her dedication and devotion to family was everything to her. She loved to decorate and host for every holiday occasion. She will always be loved and deeply missed. Joyce is survived by her husband, Bill Ellis; sons, Dan and Ken Ellis; daughter in law, Kristen; brother, Jeff Staigh; sister in law, Carol Staigh; step brother, Greg Johnson; niece, Heather Staigh; and step mother, Jeanne Snoddy. Visitation is to be held in the chapel at Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, California on Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A private funeral service for family will be held Friday, July 19, 2013 at 12:00 PM.
