Lesneski Jr., Edward John

Lesneski Jr., Edward John, 84, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2013 at Saddleback Memorial Hospital in San Clemente, CA, with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born on March 8, 1928 in Chicago Illinois; the proud son of Edward and Mildred (Anson) Lesneski. Ed graduated Kelly High School in Chicago and served in the United States Marine Corp with honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant. Serving in WWII and Korea. He graduated Mortuary Science School and attended Southwestern Law School. Edward met his wife, Mary in 1947, and took her hand in marriage in 1950.

Ed purchased the Divel Funeral Chapel in 1968. He had over 60 years in the funeral industry and was a pillar of the community. Edward served the people of San Clemente with love and heartfelt compassion. His son, Mark and grandson, Travis have been overseeing operations of Lesneski Mortuary and will continue to strive and uphold the dignity that was established by Edward and his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He was members of Chamber of Commerce, Advisory Board of Mortuary College since 1970, Veteran of WWII and Korea, Rotary-perfect attendance for 31 years, American Legion Past Adjacent and Financial Officer for 16 years, Active Our Lady of Fatima Lector Committee, Knights of Columbus Past Grand Knight twice, Past President Orange County Funeral Directors Association, Member of California Funeral Directors Association, and Planning commission of the city of San Clemente for 7 years and 1 year as chairman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Helen Lesneski; sister, Georgette Ann Hill; sons, Edward J. Lesneski III and Mark E. Lesneski; daughters, Catherine A. Hays and Laura Lee Lesneski; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the caregivers who showed love and faithfulness toward Edward and his family: Michael Santorina, Glenn Sanchez and Teresa Aceves, who gave Ed her special love and care for over 2 years.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 at Lesneski Mortuary with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Celebration Mass will be 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Saturday, January 26, 2013. Graveside Services at 1:00 p.m. Pacific View Memorial Park Cemetery in Newport Beach with Military Honors.
