Zeissig, Kurt V

Kurt V. Zeissig was born in Wessington, SD on Oct. 27, 1930 to Hans and Johanna Zeissig who settled on the peninsula, attended San Mateo High and enlisted in the US Army. Later as a Merchant Marine he traveled extensively and was inspired by the various cultures and people. He was passionate about the US Constitution, our laws, human rights for all, the writings of Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine and he did extensive research and wrote on various subjects which were published abroad. He enjoyed reading, music and the arts and shared that with his wife. Kurt was a very humble person whose kindness shown through to all who met him. He was always learning, inquiring and exploring. Kurt will be missed by all his many friends.
Kurt passed away peacefully on Dec. 25 at his home in Belmont with his loving wife of 49 years, Garifalia at his side. He is also survived by brother-in-law Paul G. Eliopoulos and his wife Sophia K.; many nieces and nephews, Spiro, Mary Kay, Niko and Sophia Stratigos, Eric, Irene, Alex, James and Alena Starling.
Friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thurs, Jan 3, 2013, from 6 to 8pm with a 7:30pm Trisagion Service at Crippen & Flynn Carlmont Chapel, 1111 Alameda de las Pulgas in Belmont. A Funeral Service will be held on Fri., Jan 4, 11am also at Crippen & Flynn Carlmont Chapel. Interment will follow at the Greek Orthodox Memorial Park in Colma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Belmont or to the charity of your choice .
