Mary passed away peacefully Dec. 21st after an almost 4 year battle with colon cancer. She was born in Troy, NY and moved to West Bloomfield, MI with her family. Mary received her masters in library administration from San Jose State University after moving to California with her husband George. Mary worked 27 years for the San Jose Public Library system first as a library page and finally as the Assistant Library Director. Her favorite time through those years was as a children's librarian, reading stories to the young kids that would come through the library. She enjoyed camping and spending time at the family cabin in Lake Tahoe, and skiing the various mountains the area has to offer. Mary is survived by her husband George, son Brian (Stacy) and daughters Allison (Casey Jarvis) and Rebecca. A memorial service will be held Saturday Dec 28, 11am at the Los Gatos Presbyterian Church, 16575 Shannon Road, Los Gatos, CA 95032. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to medicalgiving.stanford.edu or carigbridge.org.
