Codon, Scott Randolph, a selfless and precious man of 63 young years, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Scott was born October 28, 1948 in Los Angeles to Francey and Ted Codon. In the span of Scott's life, he served as a dishwasher, substitute teacher, Navy Seabee in Vietnam, insurance salesman, entrepreneur, technical writer, small aircraft pilot, amateur sailor, hiking aficionado, Big Brother and an active member in his church.

Scott loved adventure and laughter. He was famous for leading trips to Wyoming and Europe as well as his dry and quirky sense of humor. Recycling one-liners was his specialty.

Scott survived a brutal bout of cancer in 1993, but was diagnosed in January 2010 with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Knowing it would end his earthly life, his acceptance and determination and humility to continue loving and living through his suffering was perhaps the greatest legacy he has left us. .

Scott is affectionately survived by his wife, June McKinney Codon; children, Katie Codon (soon to be Baker), Kelly Solesbee Szabo, Kannon Solesbee, Sara McKinney Sanders and Ryan McKinney; sons-in-law, Marcel Szabo, Dave Sanders and (soon-to-be) Drew Baker; grandchildren, Hannah, Samuel and Maximus Szabo and Elle and Quinn Sanders; little brother, Carlos Anthony Garay; sisters, Christie Codon Stoddard and Debbie Codon Lytch; and lifelong friend and former wife, Connie Codon.

Scott's memorial will be at Mariner's Church in Irvine, Tuesday, May 1st at 1pm. Gifts in memory of Scott may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association (mdausa.org) or Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County (bbbs.org)
