Matthew Shankle, 51, of Greenwood Village, CO passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011 with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife Carla Gene (Schneider), beloved children: Alexandra, Gene, Holly, and Kelsey as well as brothers: Steven, Joe, and Zach, sisters: Kathy, Missy, and Lisa, brother-in-law Mark (Candice), sister-in-law Tina (Jay), 6 nieces and 7 nephews, and many good friends. He was the fourth of eight children and was preceded in death by his parents Donald Winsor and Mary Patricia, and his brother, Jeff. Matt was a graduate of Oceanside (CA) High School where he was a standout member of the football team. He was a life-long certified diver and a passionate sailor. He was an advisory board member for the Special Service Advisory Committee as well as the Chair of Educational Technology Advisory Committee for the Littleton Public School District.
Memorial Service will be held 10 AM, Saturday, September 10 at All Soul's Catholic Church, 4950 S. Logan Street, Englewood, CO. Memorial donations may be made to Grand Lake Yacht Club Sailing Foundation at GLYCSailingFoundation.org
