Stone, Donald

Stone, Donald M., 78, passed away on May 2, 2015. He is survived by his wife of over
50 years, Diana L. Stone; sons, Michael and Christian; and grandchildren, Katherine, Madelyn, Chloe, Preston and Eve.

Mr. Stone was born on November 17, 1936 in Seattle, WA. After spending his childhood in Seattle, WA, he attended Colgate University in 1955, becoming a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, graduating in 1958 with a bachelor's degree in political science. Upon graduation, Mr. Stone was selected for Officer Candidate School with the United States Marine Corps (USMC). During his time with the USMC, he served at El Toro, Camp Pendleton, Okinawa, lwakuni and Vietnam. Mr. Stone was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1969.

Later that year, Mr. Stone joined the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) as a manager and was employed by them until 1988 After leaving AIAA, Mr. Stone subsequently held several positions in management with different companies ranging from Fluor Daniel to Marriott Resorts, the company from which he ultimately retired in January of 2002.

Mr. Stone was fond of traveling, an avid follower of the NFL's Los Angeles Rams and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 7:00PM at Brown Colonial Mortuary, 204 West 17th Street, Santa Ana. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 10:30AM at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 727 Minter Street, Santa Ana. Brown Colonial Mortuary
