Guedea, Sophie

Sophie Guedea passed away at 1:44 pm on Saturday July 26th after battling brain cancer for the last 10 months. Sophie was a distinguished Santa Ana business woman who resided in Santa Ana for the last 50 years. She and her husband Fred built numerous businesses in Santa Ana which Sophie continued to be part of up until her death. In addition to running her real estate business, Sophie found plenty of time to contribute to her community. She was heavily involved in the Southwest Senior Center having sat on the board in various positions, and having been named Queen of the Center. In addition, Sophie donated a lot of her time to the Catholic Church, participating in Catholic Charities, Alter Society President, Eucharistic minister, PTA Historian, CCD teacher, Diamond Park Water Brd Secretary, Sophie also enjoyed donating her time to Century HS softball and football, CSUDH baseball,
In her free time Sophie enjoyed her Sr. activities such as bowling, line dancing, bingo, Pechanga trips, garage sailing, shopping and just spending time with her friends. More than that though, her passion was always her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Sophie is survived by her 6 sisters, 5 brothers, 3 children, Bob Guedea, Kathy Medina ( Edward ) Rick Guedea ( Sherri) 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and is preceded in death by her husband Fred Guedea and 1 grandson, Alex Guedea,
Sophies influence on those around her, especially her family will continue to inspire them and guide them as they continue on, knowing she is watching over them.
