Murphy, Darnella Darnella Murphy was born in Detroit, MI on September 4, 1953 to Irving and Juanita Gipson. In 1963, Darnella moved with her parents and her brother Irving Gipson from Detroit to Sacramento, CA. In 1971 Darnella graduated from McClatchy High School with honors. In 1993, she earned a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from California State University Sacramento. From 1993 to 2003 she worked for the United States Geological Survey, Department of the Interior. On May 20, 2015 Darnella passed from the conventional world. Her life continues through her brother Irving, her son Tyrone Murphy, her daughter-in-law Javana, and her daughter Tasauna Murphy. Also through her grandchildren Satearah and Tyrisha Murphy, Brittney Murchison, Phaelan Taylor, Xatyiah Murphy, Lauren Morris, Tyviauna, London, and Tyrone Murphy Jr. Darnella also has family in Detroit, MI and Goodyear, AZ.
