Munson, Georgia

Munson, Georgia Ann (Hogg) March 30, 1924 - Aug. 11, 2014 Age 90. Georgia was the 'middle daughter' born to Charles and Ellen Hogg in Clinton, IA. As a child, her family moved to a farm in Thomson, IL, where she shared stories of early morning cow milking and swimming in the Mississippi River. During the war years, she began her 40 year career as a registered nurse, working in hospitals, private doctor offices, and eventually retiring as an Industrial Health Nurse in Modesto. Georgia came from a proud Masonic family and was an Eastern Star Lifetime Member, Past Worthy Matron and supporter of her children in the Masonic youth organizations. She was a member of the Methodist Church, both in Modesto and Sacramento and a former resident of Lakeview Village in Citrus Heights and a founding member of the 'The Larks', choral group. She is survived by daughters Patti Sheley, Paula (Austin) Wallestad, Vangie (Lee) Fitzpatrick-LaPerle and son, Jan (Myriam) Munson. Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Aunt to many. She also leaves behind her longtime companion, Gilbert Morthole and his family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation entrusted to River Cities Funeral Chapel.
