Scott, Kayleigh Noelle

Kayleigh passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord Sunday, August 18, 2013, after a courageous 6 years of battling Synovial Cell Sarcoma. Kayleigh was born in Santa Rosa, CA on December 26, 1996, and lived in Windsor, CA until the age of 2 when she moved with her family to Long Beach in 1999. She attended Cubberley School for K-8th grade where she was an honor student and a member of the chorus, orchestra, band and a cheerleader. She was currently a Junior at Millikan High School, where she was a Quest honor student and on the RAM Kidette Color Guard team. She was a Girl Scout, loved sports, camping with her family and spending time with her friends. After being diagnosed at age 10, she did not let cancer define her, she lived her life on her terms, continuing her active life with friends and family. She had a heart for serving others and participated in many service projects and fundraisers to benefit other children suffering with cancer and childhood disease. She is an Honored Child for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, helping to raise money for childhood cancer research and she participated in many events with the Jonathan Jaques Children's Cancer Center at LB Miller Children's Hospital helping build awareness for childhood cancers. Her spirit was inexhaustible and an inspiration to all who knew her. Kayleigh is survived by her parents, Dave and Michelle; brother, Hunter; as well as her grandfather , Joseph Scott; great-grandmother, Mary Catron; grandmother, Sharon Catron; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Services are to be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013, 10:30am at Long Beach Alliance Church (3331 Palo Verde Ave Long Beach, CA 90808, (562) 420-1478) followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cypress (4471 Lincoln Ave, Cypress, CA 90630). For donations in honor of Kayleigh, the family requests sending a donation to Jonathan Jaques Children's Cancer Center (701 E 28th St # 202, Long Beach, CA 90806) or St. Baldrick's Foundation (1333 South Mayflower Ave, Ste 400, Monrovia, CA 91016)
