Johnson, Todd R.

Todd died at the young age of 34 after a long, courageous battle with an aggressive germ cell cancer which had metastasized throughout his brain and spinal column. He was married in a bedside ceremony at UC Davis Hospital to his fianc‚e, Danielle Picolla, on May 28, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Dani, parents, Robert and Ann Johnson, sister, Jennifer, stepmother, Bonnie MacKenzie, father-in-law Jeff Picolla and brother-in-law Cory Picolla, mother-in-law Marcy Juntunen, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Todd was predeceased by his sister, Katherine Anne Johnson in 1979, and his uncle, Gordon Williamson. After graduation from John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento, he attended Butte College and graduated from Chico State University with a Bachelor's degree in Hotel / Resort Management and Event Planning. He was a beloved Guest Service Supervisor at the Holiday Inn Express in Oroville, CA. Todd loved soccer, Little League, swim team, ski team and snowboarding. He was an enthusiastic fan of the A's, Raiders, Kings, and NASCAR. During high school, he was active in the youth programs at Faith Presbyterian Church. While in Chico, he organized and participated in many charitable events. His Memorial Service will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church, 625 Florin Rd, Sacramento, CA 95831 on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 1 p.m. Contributions may be made in Todd's memory to the UCSF Foundation, PO Box 45339, San Francisco, CA 94145-0339 noting "GU Malignancies Research Fund in memory of Todd Johnson".
