Tributes for

Southwick, Jerry

Jerry was born in Los Angeles in 1942 and grew up in Compton, Ca. He joined the U.S. Army in 1959, trained as an MP/dog handler and was stationed in Alaska. Remained in Alaska after discharge and learned the drywall finishing trade. Returned to California in 1966 where he continued to practice his trade as an "extraordinary taper and tool repairman". Eventually started a drywall taping contracting company employing over sixty workers. Married Diane Rendon in 1989. They built a wonderful life together in Fullerton and later relocated to Capistrano Beach where they were most happy. Jerry was the epitome of moral and emotional strength. He demonstrated this daily as he faced multiple illnesses with quiet dignity. Never complained or lamented his declining health. He will be remembered and sorely missed by all of us as a great husband, stepdad, brother and friend.
