Idelle was born to Arthur and Rose Ries in Chicago, Illinois. She and Frank were married for 61 years.

Frank was born to Peter and Emilia Piumarta in Morgan Hill, Ca. The family moved to Sunnyvale in 1923. He spent his younger years working on the family dairy, on Borregas Ave in Sunnyvale. Frank graduated from Fremont High School in 1940, and entered the Marine Corp in 1942, where he served as a Corporal in the Pacific. Upon his discharge in1946 he worked on his parent`s ranch. He then worked, at Moffett Naval Air Station in Sunnyvale until his retirement in 1983. Frank had six brothers, Victor, Louis, Charles, Joe, Johnny, (All deceased). His brother George lives in Rio Del Mar. Frank leaves seven nephews and nieces.
