Giampaoli, Josephine E.

Josephine Eleanor Giampaoli
December 20, 1911 - July 18, 2016
Proud native San Franciscan, Josephine Eleanor Giampaoli, passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2016, after a long and happy life of 104 years. She was the daughter of Joseph and Ella Doering and was born at home in the family Victorian on December 20, 1911, in the time before the opening of the Panama Canal, before the start of World War I, before penicillin was invented and before women had the right to vote.

She enjoyed the deep and abiding love of her dear husband of 49 years, Mario, now deceased, and her beloved daughters, Shirley, Judy and Lorraine; her grandchildren, Bruce & Midori Maxwell, Denise & Dan Hohn, Jeff & Anne Maxwell; her great grandchildren, Matthew & Laura Hohn, Scott, Justin and Christopher Maxwell; and her great, great grandchildren Natalie, Eli, Cora and Lydia. She was the loving sister of Elvira Desmond, Viola Filippi, Lloyd Doering and Marguerite Manini, who was not only a dear sister, but a best friend throughout her life. Loving aunt of Maureen Nunes, Janice Reggiardo (Jim), Tom Manini (Tammy), Arlene Ward, and a large extended family and circle of friends.
Our deep gratitude and appreciation is extended to Wendy Araoarao and her husband, Alex, for their loving devotion and care of Mom for the past several years.

For Mom, family was everything and she always enjoyed her family being close by. She loved a good party, hosted many, and enjoyed all of our family celebrations, being the first to arrive and the last to leave. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten by her loving family who are so very thankful for the many wonderful years they were blessed to share with her.

Friends and family may visit Sunday, July 24, 2016 beginning at 3:00 pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City where a Vigil Service will begin at 4:00 pm.
