Donohoe, John P.

John Patrick Donohoe - 'Packy' - passed away peacefully at his home on July 17, 2016 surrounded by friends and family. He was a native San Franciscan, graduate of St. Cecelia's (Class of 1966), and Saint Ignatius High School (Class of 1970). After graduating from St. Ignatius, Pack worked at his family's business, Donohoe and Carroll Memorials, for the majority of his career.
Packy is survived by his siblings: Hugh (Eileen) Donohoe, Mary Nappi, James (Kenesha) Donohoe, Elizabeth (Robert) Thorstad, sister-in-law Teresa Donohoe, step-son John Desmond and 13 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Mel J. and Mary E. Donohoe, and his brother, Thomas J. Donohoe.and brother-in-law Frank Nappi.
Packy will be best remembered for his intelligence, his generosity and his wonderful sense of humor. He leaves behind numerous friends from all walks of life. There was scarcely a person who knew him and wasn't drawn to him and his wit. He was devoted to his family and very proud of his family's legacy and contribution to the Catholic Church.
Friends and family are invited to a Vigil Service will be held at St. Cecilia's, 660 Vicente St, in San Francisco on Friday, July 22nd at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia's Church on Saturday, July 23rd at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 1500 Old Mission Rd, Colma. There will be a reception to follow.
