Passed peacefully on May 11, 2014 at her birth home in San Jose, CA. Devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Catania. Cherished sister of Mary Cetani and Sam Catania, the late Lena Stoval, Tony Jangrus, Joe Catania, Rose Zito, Vince Catania and Sister Catania Cabrini. Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Josephine worked for 40 years at the USDA and received many achievement awards for excellence. She declined a major promotion in Washington, D.C. because she wanted to be a devoted caretaker for her mother. Josephine will be missed by her family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Vigil Service Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at LIMA-CAMPAGNA-ALAMEDA MISSION CHAPEL, 600 S. Second Street, San Jose with Visitation beginning at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass Friday, May 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, 580 Jackson Street, San Jose. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
