Tributes for

Breault, Claire Louise

Breault, Claire Louise, the ninth of Earl and Virginia Breault's twelve children; the fifth of their eight daughters, Claire Breault quickly asserted her unique individuality and remained a distinctive and unforgettable presence throughout her too brief life. A Sacramento native, she attended both El Camino High School and, anomalously, the all-boys Jesuit Prep. A tirelessly devoted single mom, Claire simultaneously forged a successful career as a financial consultant, envisioning and creating a secure, happy and stimulating life to share with her beloved daughter, Ashlie. Claire was an avid world traveler, but she was never happier than in her own kitchen, baking exquisite treats for her little granddaughters, Reese and Lily. Claire died as she had lived: fiercely independent, sweetly self-possessed, defying to the end the ravages of the cancer that took her life. Claire's numerous friends and colleagues will remember her glowing smile, hearty laugh, rapacious wit and boundless generosity. Her many nieces and nephews will bask in memories of their glamorous, funny, adventurous Auntie Claire. Her aunts and uncles, cousins and in-laws and, especially, her brothers and sisters are numb with grief at such a loss. Ashlie, Ashlie's husband, Joe Jansen, and their two daughters - although buoyed by Claire's effervescent, enduring spirit - have suffered a horrible blow. They and Claire's entire extended family seek consolation in the knowledge that Claire has been reunited with her parents in heaven. A memorial Mass is scheduled for 11:00 AM on June 28 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael, CA 95608. Reception to follow, place TBA.
